(UNDATED) - Weather forecasts continue to worsen throughout parts of the WBIW listening area, especially toward the south.

The National Weather Service in Louisville has upgraded a winter storm watch to a winter storm warning for the southern half of the listening area including Orange, Washington and Crawford Counties and the Cities of Paoli and Salem.

That winter storm warning starts right at noon today and continues through 7:00am Tuesday morning. NWS meteorologists are forecasting between 1 and 4 inches of snow and ice in the affected area.

The winter weather advisory for the northern half of the WBIW listening area, including Lawrence, Martin, Greene, Monroe, Brown and Jackson Counties, however, has been canceled as of just before 11:00am this morning.

Original story from 6:00am:
(UNDATED) - We're looking at some interesting weather today and tomorrow in the WBIW listening area.

For Lawrence, Martin, Greene, Monroe, Brown, and Jackson Counties including the cities of Bedford, Bloomington and Seymour, a winter weather advisory is in effect from 7:00am until noon today.

The National Weather Service in Indianapolis says the rain we're experiencing has a chance of freezing by late morning, and up to a tenth of an inch of ice accumulation is possible. And if the ice doesn't get you, the wind may.

A wind advisory for the same counties is set to expire at 7:00am this morning.

However, in the counties in the southern half of the WBIW listening area, you're not off the hook either. The National Weather Service in Louisville has issued a winter storm watch for Orange, Washington and Crawford Counties as well as areas south, which goes into effect this afternoon and continues through tomorrow morning.

Currently, a large weather system is forming a triangle from Marquette, Michigan in the Upper Peninsula, to Little Rock, Arkansas to Montreal, Quebec in Canada.

A cold front was expected to hit the area at about 7:00am this morning, and temps are expected to fall to the mid 20s by noon today.
