Two Shoals Men Picked Up In Perjury Case

Last updated on Friday, November 7, 2008

(SHOALS) - State police have arrested a pair of Martin County men on felony perjury charges.

State Police Jasper say 61-year-old Jeff Sanders and 44-year-old Terry Tichenor, both of Shoals, were taken into Martin County jail facing three perjury counts each.

The arrest, a tag-team effort between Indiana and New Jersey law enforcement and motor vehicles departments, revolved around the two men allegedly falsifying affidavits to obtain Indiana "rebuilt" titles for various vehicles, and then altering them to obtain "clean" New Jersey titles for the cars, which were purchased by an alleged New Jersey accomplice.

Both men are out on $2,500 bond, but there is no word on the New Jersey individual.
