One Dead, One Hurt In Brown County Home Invasion, Shooting

(MORGANTOWN) - A Brown County man is dead and his wife is in bad shape after a home invasion and shooting early Saturday morning.

State Police Bloomington say 84-year-old Richard Voland and his wife, 77-year-old Mary Voland, were taken to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis after suffering gunshot wounds. Police say two young men entered the Voland home between midnight and 5:00 Saturday morning.

The older one is described as between 18 and 20 years old, white with dark hair, olive or dark skin. The younger one is between 14 and 16 years old, white with light complexion, sandy blonde or light red hair.

Both were described as clean shaven. The older male may have suffered a wound to one of his arms. Richard Voland succumbed to his injuries at Methodist Hospital. Police are continuing to investigate the incident.
