Last updated on Monday, November 24, 2008

(ROCKPORT) - State police took a Spencer County man into custody after a multi-car crash that resulted in injuries.

Police say they arrived at the scene of a wreck at IN-161 and CR300 South, and when they got there, they found one of the drivers involved took off running on foot. Police eventually caught up with the man, identified as 26-year-old Darryl Casey of Rockport, near IN-45 and CR200 West.

Police say a records check found that Casey was a habitual traffic violator with a 10-year suspension, and a sobriety check found that he was driving while intoxicated.

Police took Casey to the Spencer County jail on felony charges of drunk driving and being a habitual traffic violator and a lesser charge of leaving the scene of an accident with injuries.
