Zombie Invasion In Bloomington! Kind of...

Last updated on Friday, October 31, 2008

(BLOOMINGTON) - People hanging out and driving through downtown Bloomington last night had a zombie invasion to deal with…literally! Okay…almost literally.

The Bloomington Herald Times says police responded to calls from people complaining of zombies blocking traffic near Ninth and Walnut Streets.

When officers arrived, the paper says some of the zombies, who were actually mostly IU students dressed up for a little Halloween fun, started allegedly kicking and hitting one of the marked squad cars.

More officers arrived to dissipate the crowd and one zombie, 18-year-old Thomas Dagely, was arrested on charges of obstructing traffic and disorderly conduct.

The Indiana Daily Student reports the zombie parade started at the Sample Gates at Kirkwood and Indiana Streets, and walked through downtown Kirkwood Street causing a bit of a spectacle.

IU senior zombie Luke Bapple told the Student the arrested zombie should have known better, but another IU senior zombie, Samantha Miller, referred to Dagely as a, "martyr zombie."

There were no reports of any brains being eaten or of any surges in the sale of the book, The Zombie Survival Guide.
