(UNDATED) - Upstate New York and surrounding areas have spent the last couple days getting buried by snow.
The northwestern edge of the Catskill Mountains, about 75 miles southwest of state capital Albany, has seen around 15 inches, with areas in Pennsylvania and Northern New Jersey seeing about as much.
Why does that matter here?
Mostly because the Old Farmer's Almanac predicted rainy but seasonable weather in the area, with first snows not originally predicted until the week after Election Day...the same week the first snows in the Ohio Valley region, which includes Bedford, was due for a dusting.
The Old Farmer's Almanac was already predicting a cold, snowy winter for the western Ohio Valley this year, with more significant snows projected for the week of thanksgiving, and then getting brutally cold in December.
