Police: IU/Ball State Crowd "Most Out Of Control"

Last updated on Monday, September 22, 2008

(BLOOMINGTON) - Indiana State Excise Police issued 97 tickets for illegal consumption of alcohol and other violations to tailgaters outside the Indiana University-Ball State football game in Bloomington.

Officer Travis Thickstun says Saturday's crowd was "the most out of control" that police have seen in several years.

Police say people were throwing bottles, cans, cups and other objects in IU's Red Lot, in what police described as an argument between IU and Ball State fans.
