FEMA Not Asking For More Hoosier Volunteers For Gustav

Last updated on Wednesday, September 3, 2008

(UNDATED) - Indiana’s emergency response agencies remain on standby for deployment to the Gulf Coast.

Beyond Task Force One, FEMA has not asked for more assistance because the destruction caused by Hurricane Gustav wasn't as concentrated as Katrina in 2005.

Indiana's Task Force One is currently stationed in Gonzalaz, Louisiana.

Ann Gregson with the American Red Cross says about 120 volunteers from Indiana are headed to the Gulf Coast.
