(UNDATED) - With dry conditions expected to continue throughout the weekend, state officials are hoping flood waters up north will continue to recede and recovery efforts in the more wind-damaged areas will be able to proceed as they have been.
In Crawford County, an elementary school is being set up to provide food operations, and several other counties are helping provide generators, supplies and manpower. Additionally, helpers are trucking in water to Crawford and Harrison Counties due to low water pressure in lines.
Churches and the Salvation Army are also helping provide food in Washington County which is still seeing heavy power outages.
In Jennings County, officials report more than 80% of the county is still in the dark. The Indiana Department of Homeland Security reports a total of 19 injuries and 7 deaths as a result of the storms, most of the fatalities are due to falling trees.
Finally, in Northwest Indiana, Governor Daniels has declared a state of emergency for Lake and Porter Counties and cancelled tolls along the Indiana Tollway.
