(CRANE) - The Crane Naval Warfare Center opened the nation’s only fully integrated small arms weapon development center Thursday.
The facility is designed to enhance Crane's ability to develop, test and produce the types of weapons that have seen a 400 percent deployment increase in the military since the 9/11 attacks.
The center also broke ground on a new weapons testing range. It will provide Crane's engineers with an indoor facility configured to safely test-fire weapons developed there.
