BPD Catch Two Allegedly Burglarizing 3rd Street Home

Last updated on Wednesday, September 17, 2008

(BEDFORD) - Bedford police have two men in custody that could have made off with a valuable haul were it not for a watchful neighbor.

Bedford Assistant Chief of Police Dan Kirk tells WBIW News 18-year-old Darrell Hildum and 21-year-old Mathew Pemberton were arrested yesterday afternoon when police found them outside a 3rd Street home with a car full of someone else's stuff.

Kirk says police were called by a neighbor when they reportedly say the two men loading stereo equipment and other valuables into a Chevy Monte Carlo.

Both face felony charges of residential entry and theft.

Kirk says the owners of the home, who left some things in there when they moved to Bloomington, apparently left the door unlocked.
