(UNDATED) - Some gas stations are taking advantage of the effect Hurricane Ike may have on the oil markets by raising the price to nearly $5 a gallon.

Officials in Indiana say there is no gasoline shortage here and asks Hoosiers to avoid panic buying.

The Attorney General's office says they can only pursue gas gouging complaints when the governor declares a state of emergency.

It would take an 8% fuel shortfall in the state for that to happen.
