Last updated on Monday, August 4, 2008

(BLOOMINGTON) - Another rough weekend on Southern and South Central Indiana roadways has left 2 more people dead.

In Bloomington, 17-year-old Kathryn Olivia Sorrells was killed in a motorcycle accident Saturday when the bike she was a passenger on hit a dumpster.

Monroe County Sheriff's officials say the bike, driven by 19-year-old Dennis Knowles of Bloomington, left the roadway, went through a yard and struck a dumpster pinning Sorrels underneath.

Sorrels was pronounced dead on the scene by the Monroe County Coroner. Knowles was taken to Bloomington Hospital with massive internal injuries and multiple neck fractures. Neither one was wearing a helmet.

Also on Saturday, in Spencer County, 28-year-old Daniel Scott of Troy, Indiana was heading east in the westbound lane of IN-162 near Lincoln City when he collided head-on with a pickup driven by 19-year-old Eric Anders of Crisney, Indiana.

Scott, who wasn't wearing his seatbelt, was pronounced dead on the scene.

Anders was arrested for minor consumption of alcohol and, after being checked over by EMTs, was taken to Spencer County jail.
