(SCOTT COUNTY) - In a gruesome turn of events, state police from the Sellersburg District are assisting Scott County deputies in investigating human remains that have been found on and near Interstate 65 around 7:00pm last night.
State police say it appears the man was struck by a vehicle sometime between 11:00pm Wednesday night and 8:00am yesterday morning, and are asking anyone who was driving on I-65 near the Lake Road overpass in Scott County if they saw something unusual or if they think they might have hit something they couldn't see.
The remains were not discovered until last night when Scott County dispatch received a call of a suspicious, abandoned vehicle on Lake Road at the overpass.
The body has not yet been identified and police ask anyone with information to call (812) 246-2509 or (800) 872-6743.
