Elderly, Missing Bloomington Man Found With No Problems

Last updated on Monday, August 18, 2008

(BLOOMINGTON) - A happy ending for an elderly Bloomington man. Bloomington police officers had a bit of a task yesterday afternoon when an elderly man was reported missing.

Bloomington Detective Sgt. David Drake says officers were called about a man missing from his home on the 4100 block of Rosewood Drive, and it was reported the 75-year-old man suffered from dementia and was blind in one eye.

He was last seen by his caretaker early Saturday evening, but when another caretaker came in yesterday afternoon, he was nowhere to be found.

Fortunately, the man was found by a K-9 unit in a wooded area north of Acuff Road in good condition though he complained of being tired, thirsty and was not able to walk.

The man was then transported to Bloomington Hospital to be looked over.
