(EAST OOLITIC) - An accident in East Oolitic sent at least one person, an ATV rider, to the hospital.
Lawrence County police reports say 14-year-old Mark Perry III was driving his Honda Recon ATV along Valley Lane when he went to cross East Oolitic Road to get into a private driveway.
About that time, a pickup truck driven by 43-year-old John Kinser of Bedford crested the hill and struck both Perry's ATV and a Duke Energy pole.
Kinser complained of pain to his abdomen and was treated by a Dunn Ambulance, Perry was taken by his father to Bloomington Hospital with injuries to his arm, leg and possibly spleen.
