(UNDATED) - The unemployment rate in Indiana continues its upward trend. According to Department of Workforce Development statistics, unemployment in Indiana has climbed up to 5.8% for the state, though that still keeps it below its closest neighbors.

There's also mixed news for Lawrence County unemployment. Lawrence County is no longer in the top 10 for this month's unemployment numbers, dropping to number 16.

However, that's not because unemployment in Lawrence County dropped, it's more because unemployment didn't go up as fast in Lawrence County as it did on other parts of the state. Lawrence went from 6.7% to 7.0% even.

The worst unemployment can now be found in Fayette County, which has hit 11.5%. The best employment numbers are in both Hamilton and Dubois Counties, at 4.0%.

However, the state overall, according to an Indianapolis Star report, suffered the biggest jump in unemployment in the nation, a lot of which being blamed on layoffs in the RV and motor manufacturing sectors.
