Two Arrested On Numerous Charges At Rooftop Quarry

Last updated on Wednesday, June 4, 2008

(BLOOMINGTON) - Two people are in custody after an incident at Rooftop Quarry.

Monroe County Deputies were accompanying an Indianapolis television crew to the quarry on Empire Mill Road, to shoot a follow up story regarding the weekend death of 18 year old Walter Ayala.

When deputies arrived at the quarry they found two trespassing swimmers and ordered them out of the water.

When they left the water deputies tried to identify the pair, but neither person would give them any information.

The swimmers showed signs of intoxication and began to verbally assault the deputies and the TV crew.

After a lengthy struggle three deputies were able to place handcuffs on 24 year old Adam Ellch of Demotte, Indiana and 23 year old Jessica Ellch of Bloomington.

Both were lodged in Monroe County Jail on charges of public intoxication, trespassing, resisting law enforcement, and failure to provide identification.
