Paoli Man Area's Newest Millionaire

Last updated on Friday, June 27, 2008

(PAOLI) - A Paoli man took a day off from work, and somehow managed to increase his monthly salary by about $10,000 dollars.

Okay...by "somehow," I mean he took a $2.4 million dollar top prize in a Hoosier Lottery scratch-off game that pays out that way.

Lawrence Chapman of Paoli is South Central Indiana's newest millionaire after he bought a Monthly Money scratch-off ticket at the Collett Family Market Store in Paoli.

Chapman, according to the Hoosier Lottery release, has been a certified registered nurse anesthetist at Bloomington Hospital of Orange County for 36 years.

Chapman and his wife of 31 years, Germaine, plan to spend the money on family and take a few more days off.
