Last updated on Tuesday, June 3, 2008

(UNDATED) - The WBIW listening area isn’t out of the woods yet.

The entire WBIW listening area is under a tornado watch until 7:00pm tonight, and a flash flood warning remains until 4:15 this afternoon for Clay, Owen and Morgan Counties as well as northwestern Brown and northern Monroe.

This storm system has already done some heavy damage to the Mount Pleasant area of Bedford, sending at least one person to the hospital, but there have been no fatalities reported by press time.

Lawrence County Chief Deputy Tony Siedl tells WBIW News he didn't know when everything would be back up and running.

As of 1:55 this afternoon, more than 360 Duke Energy customers in Lawrence County were without power, and more than 450 customers in Monroe County have the same problem.

However, eastern Greene County has also suffered heavy damage and the Utilities District of Western Indiana REMC reports between 2,500 and 3,000 customers east of Bloomfield are in the dark.
