(UNDATED) - Storm damage reports continue to roll in today from both yesterday and this morning’s storms.
Yesterday's storms caused significant damage along Mt. Pleasant and Younger Roads, and National Weather Service meteorologists have finally confirmed the fact that the damage was caused by a small, weak tornado.
The tornado came within a stone's throw of the antenna for Super Oldies 105.5. One home on the 3100 block of Mt. Pleasant road was, essentially, cut in thirds by a very large, fallen tree.
Additionally, aluminum siding is still hanging in trees and long rugs are on power lines still today.
This morning, more damage was caused by another severe thunderstorm, though most of that happened north and west of Bedford.
The utilities district of Western Indiana REMC, which handles power for most of Greene County, said this morning's storms tore off part of the REMC office building's roof and damaged its radio tower, all while they are being buried by power outage reports.
As of 10:30 this morning, Duke Energy was reporting more than 3,500 customers without power, most of those being in Monroe and Greene Counties.
Additionally, state troopers from the Bloomington district are helping handle damage recovery, reporting several roads around Greene County taken out by fallen trees.
Police are currently trying to keep drivers away from CR175 South in Greene County near IN-54, and IN-67 at the Greene-Owen County line.
