Last updated on Friday, June 13, 2008

(JASPER) - Yesterday morning police from the Indiana State Police, Jasper City Police, and the Dubois County Sheriffs Department responded to a report of a strong chemical odor in the 3800 block of North Portersville Road.

Police officers determined that the smell was coming from the Maple Grove Trailer Park.

Officers then secured the residence and obtained a search warrant, and after serving the warrant police found items used to manufacture meth and other drug related items.

Arrested at the trailer was the homeowner 44-year-old James Young Jr. and his friend 25-year-old Eric A. Haynes also of Jasper.

Both were lodged in Dubois County jail on charges manufacturing meth within 1,000 feet of a school, and possession of meth, two or more chemical precursors, syringes, marijuana, and paraphernalia.
