IUPD To Detonate Explosives For Training In Bloomington

Last updated on Monday, June 2, 2008

(BLOOMINGTON) - Some people living on the east end of Bloomington may think today is the 4th of July, instead of the 2nd of June.

That's because the Indiana University Police Department will be holding an explosive ordnance training seminar, which will involve live detonations from 3:00 until 5:00pm.

People living near the intersection of 10th Street and Pete Ellis Drive, also known as Range Road, may hear detonations coming from the dead end of Range Road, north of 10th, just a short distance from College Mall.

The exercise should be complete by around 5:00 in the evening.
