(WARRICK COUNTY) - State police from the Jasper District have 8 people who were protesting the Interstate 69 expansion in Warrick County over the weekend.
State police and conservation officers were called to an area near IN-68 and IN-57 where construction is set to begin and found two protesters on the ground and two more in the trees refusing to come down.
More would later arrive and eventually 3 would be on the ground, and two in the trees. After being advised they were trespassing, the three on the ground left, but the two in the trees refused and were then arrested for trespassing.
But that's not all, the three that left would later be found obstructing traffic on IN-68 and were then arrested as well, one of them, 20-year-old Banu Quadir of Brooklyn, New York, for battery on a police officer as well.
But wait, there's more.
Three more people would be arrested after fleeing law enforcement on their way to the protest site, one of which, the driver, being the only Hoosier involved in this batch.
27-year-old Chad Frazier of Evansville is facing felony charges of resisting arrest by vehicle and battery by bodily waste, from when he spit in an officer's face.

Eric Anton Magas, 25, Nashville, TN
Resisting Law Enforcement (Class A Misdemeanor)
Failing to Wear Seatbelt (Class C Infraction)
Banu Quadir, 20, Brooklyn, NY
Obstructing Traffic (Class B Misdemeanor)
Criminal Mischief (Class B Misdemeanor)
Battery on a Police Officer (Class A Misdemeanor)
Michelle M. Soto, 24, Nashville, TN
