Car Runs Off Road, Catches Fire

(BEDFORD) - Three people were injured early Sunday morning when the car they were traveling in was run off the road struck a tree, then caught on fire.

According to the driver of the car, 20-year-old Christina Riggle of Washington, she was traveling east on US-50 when a car crossed the center line causing her to swerve to avoid a collision.

When she swerved she lost control of her car and went across the road and struck a small tree and slide down a hill.

When the car reached the bottom of the hill it ignited, and all three passengers were able to escape from the burning car.

Riggle and her two passengers, 25-year-old David Williamson Jr. of Warsaw Ohio, and 1-year-old Corey Riggle of Washington, were taken to Bedford Regional Medical Center.

All three were treated and released.
