(BEDFORD) - The Bedford Fire Department is tag-teaming with Gateway Community Safety Net to help area elementary students learn to keep safe in the event of a fire.

A 116-page book called Fire Safety for Kids will be distributed to students via donations from area businesses and other organizations.

According to a Bedford Fire Department release, house fires are the 3rd leading cause of death for kids, but, fortunately, the City of Bedford has been pretty lucky lately on that count.
