Bedford Man Killed In Motorcycle Accident

Last updated on Monday, June 30, 2008

(BEDFORD) - A Bedford man is dead after wrecking his Honda motorcycle last night.

Bedford Police Chief Dennis Parsley tells WBIW News 31-year-old Jerry Lintz of Bedford was traveling outbound on Mitchell Road, according to a witness, and when he entered the on-ramp for northbound IN-37, he reportedly lost control of his motorcycle.

The bike would then hit the guardrail, throwing Lintz from the bike and into the rail several times before coming to a stop.

Lawrence County Coroner John Sherrill responded to the scene, along with Bedford, Lawrence County and Dunn Memorial Hospital first-responders, and pronounced Lintz dead at the scene.

Parsley says Lintz was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.
