(BLOOMINGTON) - Illinois Senator Barack Obama spoke to a packed house at the IU Assembly Hall last night, and picked up a big endorsement.

Indiana 9th district democratic congressman baron hill put his name in behind the Illinois senator's presidential bid.

Obama would then go on to deliver a speech that would draw not only a near-capacity crowd, but also national media.

"The average Hoosier has seen an 8% decline in wages in real terms when you adjust for inflation," the senator says. "An so less money is coming in, at the same time the cost of everything is going up."

Obama continues, "The price of college is going up. The cost of healthcare is going up. The cost of a gallon of milk is going up and lord knows a gallon of gas is going sky high here in Indiana and all across the country. And so what's happening is people are bringing in less money, but more money is going out so at the end of the month, the budget doesn't balance."

Obama is scheduled to appear in Northwest Indiana today, and Caroline Kennedy will be accompanying his wife Michelle in Jeffersonville.

Listen in tonight to 1340 WBIW as we will play the entire speech at 6:00pm.
