Last updated on Wednesday, May 28, 2008

(MITCHELL) - One man has a broken leg after hitting flood water with his car in Mitchell last night.

Lawrence County reports say 16-year-old Daniel Taylor of Mitchell was eastbound on Park Implements Road near Fleenor Road when he came upon a patch of flood water that was deeper than he thought, and hit it too fast, causing him to lose control of the vehicle and hit a tree.

Taylor's passengers, 19-year-old Kayla Pemberton and 20-year-old Bethany Strunk were also injured in the wreck. Pemberton suffered abrasions to her chest and Strunk suffered some sort of head injury. Taylor suffered a fracture to his upper leg.

All three were taken for treatment by ambulance.
