Last updated on Monday, April 28, 2008

(BLOOMINGTON) - Bloomington Police are working a pair of shootings from Friday afternoon and early Saturday morning.

The first one occurred a little after 3:00pm Friday afternoon on Longview Avenue where police suspect 2 victims. The first victim is a 19-year-old male who suffered to gunshot wounds to the abdomen, and has since undergone surgery for his injuries. At this time, his status isn't known. The second one, another 19-year-old male, was reportedly shot near the right knee, and has also undergone surgery.

The names of those victims are not being released at this time.

Witnesses report seeing two black males running from the apartment where the shooting occurred and police suspect an argument preceded the shooting.

The description of those two males is, currently, one dark skinned and one light skinned male, both between 6' and 6'3" with thin builds. Police believe the gun involved was of a smaller .380 caliber.

In the second shooting, around 3:00am Saturday morning, police say two men got into an altercation at Rooster's bar and one of them produced a .40 caliber Glock pistol.

The two men fought over control of the weapon and, in that struggle, the firearm discharged two or three time, injuring two nearby women. Police are currently unclear whether the women were struck by fragments of the slug or by debris, but they were struck in the leg, taken to Bloomington Hospital, treated and released.

Police aren't releasing the identity of any of the people involved, however, both incidents are currently under investigation.

Anyone who has information on either incident, or the whereabouts of the two men from the first shooting or the last remaining man from the Saturday shooting are asked to call the Bloomington Police Department at (812) 336-4477.
