(UNDATED) - Today is the day to get registered if you plan on voting in the May 6th primary elections.
And with more and more attention being paid to the Hoosier State, at least for the Democratic presidential primary race, this could be a moment for Hoosiers to make history.
After Pennsylvania votes on April 22nd, Indiana has the largest cache of party delegates to award either New York Senator Hillary Clinton or Illinois Senator Barack Obama.
Additionally, several primaries are contested closer to home, including the Democratic governor's race, pitting Jim Schellinger against Jill Long Thompson, and the Republican primary in Congressional District 4 which includes Lawrence County, where incumbent Steve Buyer faces off against Mike Campbell and Bedford's LaRon Keith.
In Congressional District 9, which surrounds Lawrence County, Democratic incumbent Baron Hill will face off against some familiar competition with Jasper's John Bottorff, Bloomington's Gretchen Clearwater and Versailles' Lendall Terry, the winner of that primary will square off against perennial Republican candidate Mike Sodrel.
Additionally, Democrats Tony "Big Dog" Van Pelt and Mathew Colglazier will square off to take on Republican State Senator Brent Steele, and Republicans from Bedford, Paoli, Solsberry and Orleans will take each other on to face District 62 State Representative Sandy Blanton.
So if you want your voice heard in any of those races, get registered by today.
