(COLUMBUS) - Police have recovered about $330,000 worth of stolen metal and arrested a man they say was trying to sell it to a Columbus scrap yard.
36-year-old Michael Smiley of Hope was taken into custody Monday when he attempted to sell 9,000 pounds of metal to Legend Smelting & Recycling.
He was charged with possession of stolen property and is being held in the Bartholomew County jail without bond.
