(BEDFORD) - Guilty as charged. Former Lawrence County Jail Matron Shauna Hawkins was convicted on a felony count of sexual misconduct last night.
The charge, being a Class D Felony, could land Ms. Hawkins up to 6 months in prison for the crime.
This is the second conviction from the sweep of the Lawrence County Sheriff's Department.
Former Sheriff Kent Hawkins pled guilty to forgery in February and officers John Potter and Mike Terry are also facing forgery charges, relating to an alleged gun buy back scheme. Potter and Terry's trials have yet to have a date set.
