Drug Free Students Getting Plastered...On Billboards

Last updated on Thursday, April 10, 2008

(BEDFORD) - The Bedford Police Department, through it’s D.A.R.E. program, is helping make kids feel 10 feet tall…and about 22 feet wide.

The "Lawrence County's Most Wanted" project is a tag team effort between police, sheriffs and the Hoosier Uplands Drug Free Communities and will be placing the images of Lawrence County students on billboards throughout the area, promoting their anti-drug use message.

Bedford's D.A.R.E. Officer, Captain Steve Gilbert, says they are proud of these kids keeping off drugs, and think the billboards are the best way the community can show it. Gilbert says the signs will be mounted up and down IN-37 sometime later this spring.
