(BEDFORD) - It was a packed house yesterday for the Bill Clinton speech.

Several hundred people filled the gymnasium at Bedford Middle School, almost packing the place to the gills, and the line that formed to get in went up and down several streets, and moved rather slowly once doors were opened for the obviously heavy security for the event.

When Clinton first arrived, he made his way out of the vehicle and spent some time greeting and photo opping with the students that lined the courtyard area between the school and the gym, and then made his way into the west end of The Quarry.

After the speech, the crowd appeared enthusiastic, though some were more energized than others by it.

"The entire speech, he addressed quite thoroughly," said Larry Padgett of Orleans. "I like the way he described health costs with the example of the crowd."

"I thought it was a wonderful speech and I'm going to vote for Hillary Clinton," reported Lucille Fletcher of Mitchell. "It was a wonderful speech, but I'm [in support] no stronger."

Though a couple people were there in vocal support of Democratic rival Barack Obama, most were genuinely there to see the former president.
