(LAWRENCE COUNTY) - Officers and Emergency Response Team members pulled out of the Lawrence County Security Center between 8:30 and 9:00am this morning to execute a search warrant out in the county.
A long line of squad cars, police SUVs, vans and heavy trucks carrying everything from plain-clothed officers to helmeted, vest-wearing, automatic rifle carrying ERT officers departed the I Street building to Springville.
Lawrence County Sheriff Sam Craig told WBIW News late this afternoon that they retrieved $3,000 cash after raiding the home and business of 42-year-old Timothy Breedlove. Also at the location was 32-year-old Byron Farmer of Mitchell.
Craig says they did suspect to have meth turn up from the bust, however, none was found, but they did find a couple controlled substances including marijuana, as well as drug paraphernalia.
The Sheriff's Department was issued a warrant to search the Breedlove property this morning and that warrant was executed around 9:00am. Craig said nobody was injured in the raid, and that Bedford and State Police units assisted with the operation.
Bedford Police Department Assistant Chief Dan Kirk tells WBIW News that he knew two people were arrested as of early this afternoon, one on a warrant and one on drug possession related charges, but he didn't have details available since Lawrence County was the lead agency on the exercise.
Sgt. Curt Durnil of the State Police Bloomington post did confirm they played an assisting role.
Breedlove is currently facing preliminary charges of felony maintaining a common nuisance, and lesser charges of possession of Schedule III and IV controlled substances, less than 30 grams of marijuana, and paraphernalia.
Farmer was found to be wanted on an Orange County warrant for possession of cocaine, and was additionally charged in Lawrence County with visiting a common nuisance.
Craig said this bust was part of the continuing partnership between the county and Bedford police forces to help "eliminate" the drug problem in Lawrence County.
