(BLOOMINGTON) - Bloomington State Police have announced they will be gunning for people who don't pull over or slow down for emergency vehicles during the month of April.
Troopers will be setting up throughout the Bloomington district, which includes Lawrence, Monroe, Brown, Greene and Owen Counties, looking for people who don't move lanes or slow down when they come across an emergency vehicle with lights on in the shoulder.
Bloomington Post Commander Lt. Paul Bucher says they will be taking a zero tolerance stance during this effort.
So if you see an emergency vehicle, especially a police cruiser, in the shoulder with lights on, don't assume they're too busy to chase after you when you zip by.
That may be exactly what they're up to.
