Storms Bring Heavy Rains, More Possible Flooding

Last updated on Tuesday, March 18, 2008

(BEDFORD) - Today’s heavy rains and storms are bringing a flood watch along with them.

The National Weather Service has announced a flood warning beginning this morning and going through tomorrow evening, which includes Lawrence, Martin, Monroe, Greene, Jackson, Brown and Bartholomew Counties and areas north all the way up to the Michigan border, though Orange and Washington Counties appear safe right now.

Additionally, flood warnings have been called for most areas along the Wabash and Tippecanoe Rivers.

Heavy rains are hitting the listening area this morning making driving conditions shaky with reduced visibility. They are also predicting, depending on location, between 3 and 4 inches of rain to fall.

This storm system stretches through St Louis and Oklahoma City and as far west as El Paso, Texas, which makes that 3 to 4 inches sound possible.

Either way, make sure you keep listening for updates on WBIW as we will keep you up to date with information as soon as we get it.
