Reading Program Falling Short On Donations

Last updated on Wednesday, March 12, 2008

(BEDFORD) - The Success and Opportunity at Reading program has hit a fundraising shortfall for the first quarter this year.

SOAR Executive Director Lou Getman says the program has fallen $6,500 short of their goal for the Neighborhood Assistance Program tax credit fundraiser.

Getman says the program is having to tighten its belt and minimize costs to keep going, but now really needs the help of area donors.

The tax credit donation program means that a $200 donation to SOAR would shave $100 off your state income tax bill, and can also be used as a deduction on your federal taxes.

If you would like more information, call SOAR at 275-8000.
