Last updated on Friday, March 21, 2008

(OOLITIC) - A two car accident officials say may have been caused by a stroke sent 4 people to the hospital yesterday.

Lawrence County Sheriff's reports say 44-year-old Karl Buch was sitting at the Patton Hill red light on IN-37 with his two daughters, when 76-year-old Katherine McGowan pulled up behind him and stopped.

Next thing he knows, McGowan's vehicle suddenly accelerates and starts striking his vehicle from behind.

Reports say when officers arrived, McGowan was not responsive, and medical technicians who arrived on scene believe she may have had a stroke while behind the wheel. Buch and his daughters, 13-year-old Jessica and 10-year-old Kristina, all complained of back pain.

All 4 were reportedly taken by ambulance.
