(BEDFORD) - The National Weather Service has upgraded yesterday’s flood watches into flood warnings.
A flood warning is in effect for Lawrence, Martin, Jackson, Greene, Monroe and Brown Counties, and a flash flood warning in Orange and Washington Counties through this evening, at least.
Expect potential flooding of the White River East Fork to continue beyond that.
Current rain storms are still stretching back though East Texas, and we could be seeing several more heavy rain spots moving through.
State police are still warning drivers to keep driving to a minimum if possible, and to obey all flooded road signs.
INDOT has declared IN-450 between Williams and Shoals, and IN-337 between Orleans and Livonia, to be closed due to flooding. INDOT again reminds drivers not to cross flood waters on the road unless you can see the roadway underneath the water.
Additionally, due to the flooding, some area schools are either closing or are delaying first bell.
At 5:30 this morning, we were informed by Paoli School officials that Orange County is under a state of emergency.
