Last updated on Monday, March 17, 2008

(BEDFORD) - A Bedford man was picked up on a couple warrants after officers say they spotted him stumbling along US-50 near the Circle-K early this morning.

Bedford Police Assistant Chief Dan Kirk told WBIW News 32-year-old Raymond Stewart was found stumbling down the sidewalk, and when the officer came back around to check on him, he was reportedly leaning up against the counter of the Circle-K.

The officer made contact with him and eventually discovered he was wanted by Orange County for failure to appear and by Bedford police for criminal trespass.

In the trespass case, Bedford police records say Stewart was issued a no-trespass notification by the Jug Store on 16th Street resulting from an allegedly bad check he had written.

Stewart has not been charged for the check, however, he was additionally charged with public intoxication and lodged in the Lawrence County jail.
