Yesterday's Ice Storms Still Causing Problems Today

(BEDFORD) - Even though yesterday's ice storms have passed by already and are well into Ohio now, their effect is still being felt in the WBIW listening area.

City and county road crews still have not been able to clear all the ice, especially on the minor roadways, and as a result, there have been a number of cancellations.

Area schools, including North Lawrence and Mitchell, extended their cancellations as early as 8:00pm last night, knowing school buses would not be able to safely travel some of the more rural roads and other uncleared paths.

Winter precipitation didn't let up until about 7:00pm last night and the National Weather Service extended their winter weather advisory until an hour after that.

With conditions being as they are, make sure you keep tuned to Winter Weather Watchers on WBIW for the latest on closings, cancellations and delays.
