(UNDATED) - The Federal Bureau of Investigation is warning internet users of a holiday-related piece of malicious software floating about people's inboxes.
The Storm Worm malicious software, or malware, is winding up in people's e-mail boxes asking you to click on a link to get a Valentine's Day greeting card.
However, once you click on the link, your computer becomes infected and turns into part of what they call the Storm Worm Botnet.
That means your computer, along with every other victim's, will be under the control of another user, and could be used for any ignominious act such as sending spam, committing identity theft, launching denial of service attacks and victimizing other people's computers with the same problem.
The FBI recommends not opening unsolicited e-mail and not clicking on any links that will send you a Valentine's card, especially if it's from someone you don't know.
