(ORLEANS) - A Salem couple was arrested in Orleans Friday after allegedly being found with a false or fictitious vehicle registration.

State Police Jasper say 33-year-old Christopher Stivers was located by a trooper near 6th Street and Quarry Road in Orleans, and after making the stop, the trooper found through records checks that Stivers was listed as a habitual traffic offender for life and was arrested.

His passenger, 24-year-old Krissanna Albertson, also of Salem, was found to have an outstanding warrant out of Washington County for child support and was also taken into custody.

Both were lodged in Orange County jail.
