(BEDFORD) - Last night’s winter weather has taken its toll on the area. Almost every school district in the listening area has either a closing or schedule change.
Area roads are icy, even along some spots of your major thoroughfares, including IN-37. Most of last night's storm system, however, has seemed to have dropped down beneath us now, heading more towards Louisville.
The National Weather Service has cancelled their winter storm and ice storm warnings for different parts of the listening area, however, there still are weather advisories in effect.
The NWS has reissued their winter weather advisory for Lawrence, Monroe, Greene, Martin, Jackson, Brown, Bartholomew, Jennings and other counties in effect still until 7:00 this evening.
For the area including Orange, Washington, Dubois, and Crawford Counties and all the way down through Kentucky, the NWS has issued a freezing rain advisory and that still expires at 9:00 this morning.
With roads being as they are, we still advise listeners to stay home and off the road if this is an option for you. The ice that has landed in the area is unusually dense and difficult to remove.

Update - 7:51am
The National Weather Service has reinstated their Winter Storm Warning for most of the listening area. They expect between 1 and 2 inches of snow on top of 1/4 to 1/2 inch of ice. The warning expires at 7:00pm.
