Listening Area Under Winter Storm Warning Tonight

Last updated on Monday, February 11, 2008

(BEDFORD) - Most of the WBIW listening area will be under a winter storm warning starting this evening and gong through late tomorrow.

The National Weather Service has issued the warning for lawrence, Martin, Monroe, Jackson, Brown, Greene, Morgan, Daviess, Jennings and Bartholomew Counties and areas north. Including the cities of Bedford, Bloomington, Columbus and Seymour.

The winter storm warning goes into effect starting at 7:00pm tonight and goes through 7:00pm tomorrow evening.

Weather Channel meteorologists expect snow to begin falling to some degree as early as 3:00pm this afternoon, however, the National Weather Service doesn't think the worst part of the storm will come in until 2:00am tomorrow morning, which means tomorrow's morning commute could be rough.

The warning area is possibly looking at 4 to 7 inches of snow, while areas south of Interstate 70, that would be us, are looking at a bit of ice to build up as well.

The NWS says the track of the storm is still in question, however, and updates will be made as soon as new information becomes available.

Keep an eye on the WBIW Weather page for up-to-date information.
