(UNDATED) - Unseasonably warm weather is nice, but it also means a problem for motorists -- more potholes.
Thawing and freezing, combined with traffic, produces potholes. State, county and local street maintenance crews have been out putting "cold mix" into those bigger potholes.
Residents are encouraged to call and report pothole problems. However, the Indiana Department of Transportation does not control all the roads in Indiana. The department is only responsible for state roads, U.S. routes and interstates.
Potholes on county and city roads should be reported to the county highway department or the local street department.
