Head-On Wreck Shuts Down SR-45 For Hours

Last updated on Thursday, January 10, 2008

(SOLSBERRY) - A head-on collision closed down a section of Highway 45 in Greene County’s Center Township last night.

The Bloomfield Free Press reports Greene County Sheriff's Deputy Jeremy Inman saying 22-year-old Stephanie Hudoff was southwest bound on 45 when, for an unknown reason, she crossed the centerline and collided head-on with 37-year-old Jeffrey Wyatt's pickup.

A witness says a Good Samaritan helped pull Wyatt from his truck before it caught fire, and the truck was fully involved by the time fire crews arrived at the scene.

Hudoff had to be cut from her brand-new Ford, and both were taken by ambulance with serious injuries to Bloomington Hospital.

State Road 45 was reportedly closed down near County Road 350 North until about 2:00am this morning.
