Jasper Man Dies Dodging Animal On Interstate

Last updated on Wednesday, December 5, 2007

(PERRY COUNTY) - A Jasper man died in a single-car crash on Interstate 64 in perry County last night.

Reports from a preliminary investigation indicate 37-year-old Michael Sinnott was traveling westbound on I-64 when, witnesses say, an animal jumped out in front of his vehicle.

Sinnott reportedly swerved to get out of the way of the animal and ran his Pontiac off the north side of the roadway, causing it to go down a steep embankment and roll, ejecting Sinnott from the car.

Trooper Brent Hoover says Sinnott was apparently not wearing his seat belt.
